The website ghanaweb.com is operationally managed by SuperWeb Technologies Ltd, an outfit having its office at Acheampong Junction, East Legon. The office is owned by Maame Yaa Antwi, also the legal owner of AfricaWeb Holding BV.
The CEO of SuperWeb Technologies Ltd is David Antwi, the brother of Maame Yaa Antwi. David Antwi is also the CEO of AfricaWeb Holding BV.
Practically no inormation can be found on the internet about David Antwi prior to his appointment as CEO of the most popular website of Ghana.
According to his sister he worked for Stanley Morgan in New York. This can be confirmed through a matching profile on zoominfo.
The office in East Lego from which SuperWeb Technologies Ltd now operates was previously used by ADPU Advertiser & Publisher Solutions Ghana Ltd, a 100% subsidiary of GhanaWeb BV.
.ADPU employed about 70 staff to handle the operations of ghanaweb.com and mynigeria.com. Initially Bellaart still protected the neutrality and objectivity of ghanaweb.com because he was and is the legal owner of ADPU.
The neutrality and objectivity of ghanaweb.com was put to an end in january 2024. In this month the management of ADPU forced the entire staff of ADPU to resign and sign new contracts with SuperWeb Technologies. For the employees in question little changed because they continued to work in the office of ADPU, using the assets of ADPU and doing business with clients of ADPU.
Stabbed in the back by his managers Bellaart travelled back to the Netherlands in january 2024. Because of his personal safety he has not travelled back to Ghana since then.
The illicit move with ADPU gained David Antwi direct control over the editorial staff and therefore over ghanaweb.com.
David Antwi reports to the shareholders of AfricaWeb Holding BV, basically to Dr. Afriye, a high-profile NPP politician.
